Nicklaus Children’s Hospital, formerly Miami Children’s, has always been a huge part of my life. My grandmother, Anna, worked as a registered nurse when the hospital was still known as Variety Children’s Hospital. My mother Regina, and aunt, Rosanne, soon followed in their mother’s foot steps and became volunteers, then known as “candy stripers,” and eventually RN’s at the hospital as well. Growing up, I always heard them talk about what a joy it was to work at the hospital. When I decided to pursue a career in nursing, I knew there was only one place that I wanted to work. Today, my cousin Tiffany and I are proud and honored to be third generation nurses at Nicklaus Children’s and carry on the legacy our grandmother began.
