Sayed Z. Naqvi, MD
Co-Medical Director, Inpatient Neurology Program

Dr. Sayed Z. Naqvi is a pediatric neurologist and serves as co-medical director of the Inpatient Neurology Program, part of the Nicklaus Children’s Hospital Brain Institute. He also acts as an assistant clinical professor of Neurology at Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine/Florida International University in Miami.

Dr. Naqvi earned his medical degree from Khyber Medical College in Peshawar, Pakistan. He completed a residency in pediatrics at University of Oklahoma/OU Health in Tulsa. Dr. Naqvi pursued a fellowship in neurology at University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill/UNC Medical Center. He then furthered his training with an additional fellowship in clinical neurophysiology at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital. His clinical interests include diagnosis and treatment of medically refractory epilepsies, Lennox-Gastaut syndrome, infantile spams and management of pediatric neurological emergencies requiring inpatient care.

Dr. Naqvi is board certified in child neurology, clinical neurophysiology and epilepsy. He is a member of the American Academy of Neurology, American Academy of Child Neurology, American Epilepsy society and American Academy of Pediatrics. His work has been published in various peer-reviewed journals and he has presented at numerous medical conferences.

Dr. Naqvi is employed by Nicklaus Children’s Pediatric Specialists (NCPS), the multispecialty medical group practice of Nicklaus Children’s Health System.
