Pediatric Radiologist
Dr. Felipe G. Rodriguez Ruiz is a pediatric and interventional radiologist within the Department of Radiology at Nicklaus Children's Hospital. He earned his medical degree and completed residencies in both general surgery and diagnostic radiology at the University of Puerto Rico School of Medicine in San Juan. Dr. Rodriguez Ruiz then pursued fellowships in pediatric radiology and pediatric interventional radiology at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center in Ohio.
Dr. Rodriguez Ruiz is board certified in diagnostic radiology. He is a member of the Society of Pediatric Radiology, American College of Radiology, Society of Pediatric Interventional Radiology, Radiological Society of North America, European Society of Radiology, European Society for Magnetic Resonance in Medicine and Biology and the American Medical Association. His work has been published in peer-reviewed journals and he has presented at medical conferences.
Dr. Rodriguez Ruiz is employed by Nicklaus Children’s Pediatric Specialists (NCPS), the physician-led multispecialty group practice of Nicklaus Children’s Health System. He is bilingual in English and Spanish.
The Department of Radiology at Nicklaus Children's Hospital features state-of-the-art equipment. The radiology practice has been serving the community since the hospital's inception in 1950. Under the leadership of Dr. Nolan R. Altman, department chief, the group is the largest in South Florida devoted exclusively to the practice of pediatric radiology. It includes board-certified experts in pediatric radiology, nuclear medicine, neuroradiology and cardiac CT imaging, with special interests in fetal imaging, pediatric interventional, as well as developmental and musculoskeletal disorders. The group is the only one in South Florida that offers a pediatric radiology fellowship, and also trains radiology residents.
