Juniper was experiencing symptoms of headaches, nausea, and vomiting when her mom decided to take her to their nearby hospital, our partner Jupiter Medical Center. After initial scans revealed a brain tumor, doctors there immediately transferred Juniper to Nicklaus Children’s, where she received emergency brain surgery and was diagnosed with Medulloblastoma. The teams at our Brain Institute and Helen & Jacob Shaham Cancer & Blood Disorders Institute developed a multidisciplinary care plan for Juniper to ensure she would be a healthy young girl again. In early October, she rang the celebration bell to signal completion of chemotherapy treatments.
At just four-years-old, Juniper has proven she can tackle anything, including a cancerous brain tumor.
