Dr. Steven Stylianos has been named the Medical Director of Miami Children’s Hospital’s (MCH) Operating Room. Dr. Stylianos joined the pediatric surgical practice of Michel Nahmad, MD, Malvin Weinberger, MD, Cathy Anne Burnweit, MD and Leopoldo Malvezzi, MD as well as the hospital’s medical staff in 2005. He was elected Chief of the Department of Pediatric Surgery in 2006. Dr. Stylianos also serves as Director of the Pediatric Surgery Fellowship Program at MCH.
Previously, Dr. Stylianos served at the Children's Hospital of New York/Columbia University College of Physicians & Surgeons as Director of the Operating Room and Director of the Regional Pediatric Trauma Program. Dr. Stylianos was named one of the “Best Doctors in New York” by New York Magazine, 2000-2005.
Dr. Stylianos is a graduate of Rutgers University and the New York University School of Medicine. He completed his general surgical training at Columbia-Presbyterian Medical Center, and subsequently spent two years as the Trauma Fellow at the Kiwanis Pediatric Trauma Institute in Boston. Dr. Stylianos completed a pediatric surgical fellowship at Boston Children's Hospital in 1992. He is board-certified in pediatric surgery, general surgery and surgical critical care.
