Jorge Gonzalez, President and Chief Executive Officer of City National Bank of Florida, has joined the Board of Directors of Nicklaus Children’s Hospital, part of Miami Children’s Health System.
Mr. Gonzalez will serve a three-year- term on the 19-member panel, which provides governance to the nonprofit pediatric specialty hospital and its growing network of ambulatory care centers.
“Jorge is a recognized leader with a remarkable depth of experience in the banking industry. We welcome him to our board and look forward to collaborating with him to advance our mission of providing hope through advanced care for children and families,” said Dr. Narendra Kini, CEO of Miami Children’s Health System.
Mr. Gonzalez, a Miami native, has more than 28 years of experience in the banking industry, including 20 years with Wachovia, where he served in various leadership and management roles. Prior to joining City National Bank, he was Regional President of Wachovia for Southeast Florida.
During his tenure with City National Bank, Mr. Gonzalez has overseen the diversification and expansion of the 70-year-old organization, which is one of the largest banks based in Florida with more than $6.5 billion in assets and 500 employees.
