MIAMI — Miami Children's Hospital (MCH) hosted a tour and welcome celebration for the inaugural class of the Florida International University (FIU) College of Medicine on August 5. The FIU medical students and staff toured various MCH departments and met hospital leaders, pediatric patients, pet therapy dogs and their volunteer handlers, as well as performers from the hospital's Big Apple Circus Clown Care program.
Miami Children's Hospital, a regional leader in pediatric medical education, has an affiliation agreement with the FIU College of Medicine, South Florida's only public medical school. The college recently welcomed its first class, a group of 43 first-year medical students chosen from more than 3,000 applicants.
