WESTON – The Nicklaus Children’s Dan Marino Outpatient Center, located in Weston, FL, is celebrating its 20th anniversary of serving children in the community.
The center, which opened in 1998 in collaboration with Dan and Claire Marino and the Dan Marino Foundation, was the region’s first facility to offer comprehensive specialty services for children with neurodevelopmental conditions and quickly became an internationally recognized center of excellence.
Dan Marino, Chairman of The Dan Marino Foundation, shared “Twenty years ago, after our son Michael was born, Claire and I wanted to insure that all children with autism would have access to the care they needed. Our dream was to build a center where families could find all the services under one roof, a ‘one stop shop.’ We started in Weston with the Dan Marino Outpatient Center and today Nicklaus Health continues to grow the dream.”
Nancy Humbert, Executive Vice President of Ambulatory Services and External Affiliations for
Nicklaus Children’s Health System, said, “It has been an honor and privilege to collaborate with Dan and Claire Marino and the Dan Marino Foundation to advance the well-being of children. We look forward to continuing this good work in the decades ahead so that we can continue to offer hope and a better tomorrow for children and families in need.”
