“Our son Jonas was born with a condition called hypoplastic left heart syndrome, a rare congenital heart defect in which the left side of the heart is severely underdeveloped. He was diagnosed a little more than twenty four hours after birth. He was then airlifted to Nicklaus Children's Hospital, formerly Miami Children's Hospital, where he had the first of three surgeries to repair his heart. He underwent the second stage in December 2009, and will have the third stage in a few years. He is very happy and healthy, thanks to the love and care of the staff at Nicklaus Children's. Everyone at the hospital makes you feel like part of their family. They are informative, caring, and wonderful. We are so thankful Jonas was treated there. “
