Nicklaus Children’s Hospital is the recipient of a grant awarded by the Rita & Alex Hillman Foundation that will support the hospital in providing nursing-led advanced pediatric care services via telehealth to families in need. The Hillman Foundation, with its mission to improve the lives of patients and families through nursing-led innovation, selected Nicklaus Children’s as the recipient of one of eight 2021 grants awarded in September that aimed at addressing the needs of underserved populations.
The hospital’s winning grant proposal, titled “Innovating for ImPACT: Nurse-Led Telehealth for Pediatric Palliative Care Patients,” was submitted by nurse leaders Danielle Sarik, PhD, and Jane Bragg, APRN. The resulting telehealth initiative, to be available to the community in December, will offer services of the hospital’s Pediatric Advanced Care Program (PACT) via telehealth under the leadership of members of the nursing team.
