Nurse Manager, Yamile V. Reyes, MSN, RN, CNML has been selected for the American Organization of Nurse Leaders (AONL) Nurse Manager Fellowship. The AONL Nurse Manager Fellowship is a year-long professional development program designed to target the unique leadership development needs of nurse managers through an in-depth environment of learning.
The fellowship program seeks to prepare and enable nurses to lead change to advance health, based on the Nurse Manager Learning Domain Framework, developed by AONL. Participants strengthen their current skills, master new competencies and continue the life-long learning needed for the next generation of successful nurse leaders. As part of the program, Yamile submitted and implemented the project idea outlined below.

Aim | Improving nurse manager productivity and retention in the role.
Implementation | It's a focus on standardizing and elevating the nurse manager role at Nicklaus Children's Hospital through review of job descriptions and weekly tasks, defining clear guidelines for task delegation to administrative assistant to maximize efficiency, establish a structured performance review process, focus on well-being of the nursing managers, create a standardized onboarding program for new nurse managers and assistant nurse managers and provide a comprehensive training during the onboarding process, and leadership development program and a mentoring program.
