Carolina de Almagro

Carolina de Almagro is a board-certified nurse practitioner with the Division of Endocrinology at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital. She earned a bachelor’s degree in nursing, master’s degree in nursing and a Doctor of Nursing Practice degree at Florida International University in Miami. Ms. De Almagro is certified as a diabetes educator by the Certification Board for Diabetes Care and Education. Her clinical interests include short stature, thyroid disorders, diabetes, polycystic ovarian syndrome and obesity.
Ms. de Almagro is a member of Sigma Theta Tau, the American Diabetes Association and the Association of Diabetes Care and Education Specialists. Her doctoral research focused on the healthcare transition of adolescents with Type 1 Diabetes from the pediatric to adult healthcare setting and it has been presented at various conferences and further accepted for publication in the Association of Diabetes Care and Education Specialists journal.
Ms. de Almagro is employed by Nicklaus Children’s Pediatric Specialists (NCPS), the multispecialty medical group practice of Nicklaus Children’s Health System. She is bilingual in English and Spanish.
