What are gonadal disorders?

Medical conditions that impact the gonads, or testes, of men are known as gonadal disorders. In women, the ovaries are also considered gonads. They can cause complications such as infertility, sexual dysfunction or low testosterone.

What causes gonadal disorders?

Gonadal disorders are often related to hormonal dysfunctions. These can be caused by underlying medical conditions, certain medications or genetic disorders.

What are the symptoms of gonadal disorders?

Common symptoms of gonadal disorders can include late puberty, infertility, erectile dysfunction and hypogonadism.

What are gonadal disorder care options?

Hormone therapy is a common treatment for gonadal disorders. If an underlying problem like a tumor is causing the disorder, removal of the tumor may be a possibility.
