“When my parents were vacationing in Miami in 1957, I was admitted for Friedlander's pneumonia to the Children's Hospital in Coral Gables. I was only two years old. I had been suffering in North Carolina with bronchial asthma and after speaking to a few different people my parents knew they needed to take me south to get better. This type of pneumonia is rare in children and I had been told specialists were called from New York. I have very vague recollections of the time at the hospital. I'm here today to tell the story. Thank you for the great care!"
