MIAMI -- Nicklaus Children’s Hospital received recognition for outstanding digital communications at the Nineteenth Annual Healthcare Internet Conference held this month in Orlando. The hospital was presented with a Gold eHealthcare Leadership Award in the Best Social Networking category among hospitals with 200 to 399 beds. Award winners in myriad electronic communications categories were chosen from among nearly 1,000 entries that were judged by 113 leaders in the healthcare and internet fields.

"Social media is an increasingly vital and important way to stay connected with key audiences," said Michael Kushner, Senior Vice President and Chief Talent Officer at Miami Children's Health System, parent organization of Nicklaus Children's Hospital. "I am delighted that our team is recognized for our work in social media, through which we share hospital news, health promotion information, success stories and other important updates."

The eHealthcare Leadership Awards program was developed and first presented 16 years ago by Health Care Communications, Rye, NY. The Nineteenth Annual Healthcare Internet Conference was sponsored by Greystone.Net, an Atlanta-based strategy firm.
