MIAMI, FL...Sarah Legorburu-Selem, M.D., has been elected to the board of directors of Miami Children’s Hospital (MCH).
Dr. Legorburu-Selem is a physician in private practice in Coral Gables since 1984. She has also been a teaching attending physician at MCH since 1984, responsible for contributing to the education of the hospital’s pediatric residents.
In 2002, Dr. Legorburu-Selem was honored by the MCH pediatric resident alumni association with its “Annual Excellence in Teaching Faculty Award.” Dr. Legorburu-Selem also received her pediatric residence training at MCH, serving as Chief Resident from 1983 to 1984.
Thomas M. Rozek, President and Chief Executive Officer of MCH, said, “We look forward to benefiting from Dr. Legorburu-Selem’s unique perspective as a community-based pediatrician. We know she will be a valuable member of our board of directors.”
Miami Children’s Hospital, founded in 1950, is the only licensed specialty hospital for children in South Florida. The 268-bed medical complex offers comprehensive medical care and services for children from birth to age 21.
Dr. Legorburu-Selem resides in Coral Gables with her husband Jose S. Selem, M.D., and her children.
