Miami — Radio Lollipop, Miami Children's Hospital’s in-house radio station, became a teenager on August 13! The hospital threw a big bash to celebrate the program’s birthday with special guests, including Los Primeros, Alejandra Alberti, Elmo and Sebastian (UM’s mascot). Patients participated in a Guitar Hero contest, karaoke, a cooking demonstration and more! Belly dancers and musicians also provided entertainment to ease the minds of patients and their families in the hospital.
Treats were provided by: Yummy in my Tummy, Divine Delicacies Custom Cakes, Publix Super Markets, Party City, BJ's, Party Max, Costco, Fairytale Cupcakes, University of Miami and Be Organic.

Founded in England in 1979, today Radio Lollipop boasts a worldwide audience. This international, non-profit organization’s mission is to provide care, comfort, play and entertainment for children in the hospital. Radio Lollipop, housed at Miami Children’s Hospital, is the first interactive-in-house radio station in the United States. This program is staffed by volunteers and the day-to-day running operation of Radio Lollipop depends completely on charitable donations and on fundraising activities.
